Eastern Canadian Espoir Team Championships - Aug. 14 - 15 / 08

Brampton Track Club athlete's, Daniel Harper, Phillip Hayle, Simone Martin, Curtis Helmer-Peschier were selected to the ONTARIO / ESPOIR TEAMS.

Daniel Harper set new records in the 200M and 400M events at this recent Espoir / Ontario Games. Daniel won Gold medals in both the 200M and the 400M events, in a personal best time of 46.69 for the 400M and a time of 21.45 in the 200M.

Phillip Hayle competing against older athletes won a Silver medal in the 100M in a time of 10.57 and a bronze in the 200M in a time of 21.62. Brampton Track Club athletes placed 1st and 2nd in the 200M.

Simone Martin placed 5th in the 100M in a time of 12.32 and 4th in the 200M in a time of 25.04. Simone as a Youth athlete, competed well against senior level athletes.

Curtis Helmer-Peschier placed 9th overall in both the 100M (11.10), and the 200M (22.02) events.

The Bramton Track Club Athletes were also members of the Ontario 4 x100M, and 4 x 400M winning relay teams.




2008 National Legion Champions - Simone Martin & Phillip Hayle - 5 Gold & 2 Silver

At the Canadian National Legion Championships Simone Martin won gold medals in both the 100M & 200M events in the girls 17 and under age catagory. Simone's winning times were 12.17 and 24.87. Simone was also a memebr of the Sinver 4 x 100M relay team (48.81).

At the same meet Phillip Hayle won the 100M Gold medal in the boys 17 and under age group in a time of 10.60, and placed second in the 200M in a personal best time of 21.44 . Phillip was also a member of the 4 x 100M and 4 x 400M "Gold" relay teams.

Phillip Hayle Set 100M Record - Gerad Kerr 2 Golds + Silver

Phillip Hayle set a new Ontarion 100M record in the boys 18 and under at Supermeet #2 held at York University Toronto, on August 1 - 3, 2008.
Phillip ran a time of 10.51 (PB), the previous record was 10.54.

Gared Kerr placed firsts in both the 80MH and the Triple Jump and second in the 200MH in the Bantam boys division. Gerad's time in the hurdles was 12.84 (80MH) and 29.66 (200MH), and 9.96M in the TJ.

Phillip Hayle Canadian Youth Commonwealth Team October 2008

Phillip Hayle has been named to compete for Canada at the Youth (17 and inder) Commonwealth Games in Pune India in October. Phillip's selection was based on his performances at resent Canadian Junior Championships in Abbotsford, B.C. Phiilip posted the fastess times in both the 100M & 200M for athletes 17 and under.

Phillip has now been seleted to a total of 3 Canadian Team - World Youth Championships 2007 (CZE), World Junior Championships 2008 (Poland), and the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008 (India). Congratulation Phillip.




2008 Canadian Junior Championships - Abbotsford BC

The Brampton Track Club had a successful meet; 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 gold on Ontario relay teams

Daniel Harper placed first in both the 400M and 200M events. Daniel also was on two Ontario gold winning relay teams - 4 x 100M & 4 x 400M, giving Daniel a total of 4 gold medals.

Phillip Hayle placed second in both the 100M, and 200M events. Phillip missed the gold in the 100M by 0.02 of a second to Tyrone Halsted, and by 0.06 of a second
in the 200M to team mate Daniel Harper. Hayle was also on the Ontario Gold winning 4 x 100M relay, consisting of team mates Curtis Helmer-Peschier and Danniel Harper. The forth member of the team is Andrea Johnson of the Phoenix Club.

Simone Martin in her fist year with the BTC competed well. Simone placed 4th in both the 100M and 200M events.

Curtis Helmer-Peschier competed hard, and placed 5th in the 100M, and 6th in the 200M events.

Chriesna Whyte placed 6th in her heat ot the 400M.

Naomi Kerr advanced to the semi final of the 100M but unfortunately was not able to continue due to an injury.

Our girls relay team did their best, but did not medal.

Provincial Legion Championships - July 15 / 08 Kitchener - National Legion Sherbrooke

Phillip Hayle and Simone Martin placed first in both the 100M & 200M events, in the 17 and under catagory.

Simone posted a time of 12.19 in the 100M , and ran a personal best of 24.81 in the 200M.

Phillip ran a 10.64, and 21.71 in the 100M & 200M respectively.

Naomi Kerr placed second inthe 200M and third in the 100M events in the 15 and under catagory. Naomi's times 100M & 200M events were 12.48 and 25.33 (PB) respectively.

Aaron Johnson placed 8th in 100M in a time of 11.34, and 5th in 200M in a time of 22.94, in the boys 17 and under division.

Domenic Greco placed second in the 400M with a time of 51.02!, in the 17 and under catagory.

Chresena Whyte placed second in the 400M with a time of 60.40 seconds, in the 15 and under grouping.

Phillip Hayle and Simone Martin have been selected to the Ontario Team, which will be competing at the National Legion Championships in Sherbrooke Quebec on August 6 - 12 / 08.

Daniel Harper placed sixth in the 400M final in a time of 47.20. Congratualtion.

World Junior Championships - Harper advances to 400M Final

Daniel Harper has advance to the 400M final, running a personal best of 46.81.
Daniel's has achieved his goals of making the final and running under 47.00.

Good luck in tomorrow's final .... anything is possible just believe.

RESULTS - World Junior Results - Harper to 400M Semi - Hayle just misses 100M Seni

Daniel Harper placed second in 400M heat and advances to the semi final with a time of 47.16. Daniel's time of 47.16 is the 3rd fastest time posted in the heats.

Phyllip Halyle placed 3 rd in 100M heat in a time of 10.70, just 0.01 second behind second place, and just missing advancing to the semi final.

The Club is proud of your efforts. Daniel all the best in the semi.

Phillip we know how you feel ..... cheer up and look forward to the 4 x 100M relay.
