Athletics Ontario announced the 2009 Award winners at the "Celebrating Excellence in Athletics" on Saturday December 5 at the Yorkland Hotel in Toronto.
Naomi Kerr was winner in the midget gilrs sprint / hurdles category. Naomi earned this award through hard work and dedication. Congratulations Naomi.
Simone Martin (Youth)and Daniel Harper (Senior) were noninated in the Youth and Senior sprint / hurdles categories. These awards were won by Chanise Chase (Youth)and Gavin Smellie (Senior).

BTC annual Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday December 12, 2009,
at 3:30 PM at the Wellness Centre.
Awards will be preceded by an extensive festival of food.
In addition to our age class awards, a new award will be given out this year.

The BTC will begin its fall training program on September 14th at 5:00 PM Chinguacousy Park. Our training days are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 5:00 PM. New members may register at these time. (Sept - Dec. fee for new members is $150.00).
400M Gold for Harper - 2009 Canada Summer Games August 24 - 28 Charlettetown PEI

Daniel Harper won the 400M at the Canada Summers Games with a tine of 47.15.
Daniel experience cramping in his right hamstring in the last 150M, thus explaining his slow time.
Daniel ran a personal best of 20.92 in the 200M. He placed second.

Simone Martin advanced to the semi final by winning her 200M heat heat in a time of 24.78. In the seni Simone placed 6th with a time of 24.66.
World University Championships July 6 - 11 / 09

Daniel Harper won a bronze medal at the World University Championships held in Belgrade Serbia. Daniel ran a personal best time of 46.22. Congratulation Daniel.
Canadian Senior Championships - Toronto Varsity Stadium June 25 - 28 /09

Congratulation to Daniel for winning a silver medal in the 400M event. Daniel was edged out of gold by Nath Vadeboncour by 0.004 of a second. Daniel's time was 47.06 (47.055) and Nath's time was 47.06 (47.051).
Daniel and Nath will be room mates at the up coming World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia on July 6 - 12. Good luck Daniel.
Phillip Hayle advanced to the 100M semi final. In the semi Phillip ran 10.80.
Congratualtion Phillip for perseverering through tough physical times.
Phillip will be taking a well deserved rest for the remainder of the summer . He will resume his training in fall.

Simone Martin has been selected by Athletics Canada to compete in the 100M & 200M events. Simone has selected to compete in only the 200M. Simone is one of the top youth sprinters in Canada. Congratulation Simone .... Cioa
